Clinic Volunteer Needs
For each dollar saved or donated, the Clinic can provide over $6 worth of services to our patients. We can accomplish a lot with money not spent when a volunteer can provide a paid service.
Change is inevitable — yet some things seem never to change. Clearly, there has been an enormous amount of change in the Clinic over the past few years. Meeting the health care needs of the uninsured in Franklin County requires that we grow with the need; however, what doesn’t change? Resources are always slim and we continue to depend on volunteers to help us save our resources for things that only hard cash provides: Electricity, medical supplies, insurance, phone and postage expenses, etc. That is why the Clinic seeks as many volunteers and donated services possible. For every hour donated, dollars are saved that will provide more health care for the uninsured.
The Clinic offers opportunities for those in the community to volunteer when they are able. It may be once a week, once a month, or a few times a year. Every hour of volunteered time helps spare the dollars that would have to be spent otherwise. Below are listed some volunteer opportunities. Please review them and give them some thought. Not everyone can donate money. Volunteered time can be an equal blessing. Share this information with your family, friends, and neighbors. Perhaps someone is just waiting on the opportunity to help via clinic volunteerism.
Volunteers can work a few hours a week or a month as their schedule allows. The following are people needed:
Professional Volunteers: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, Physicians, Advanced Care Providers (Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner) to provide regular or occasional clinical services.
Administrative Volunteers to help register patients, file, and help with administrative tasks.
An attorney to provide legal guidance as needed.
Event Volunteers: Helpers for fundraising events may help with set-up and clean-up, register participants, hand out programs, keep the area clean, and provide a variety of on-the-spot needs.
